Shards of Time

In shattered fragments the sands of time
Slip slowly through my fingers.
In glittered stars the shards of life
Blow softly in the wind.

In hazy mist the scattered dreams
Withdraw from the horizons.
In dappled light the shadows fade
And life now takes its form.

The plans we made, the paths we take
The choices come and gone.
The journey's end is in plain sight.
Too late to turn around.

Red Zinger Tea

Now in effort to relieve the tension from waiting and waiting on this site, I'm making some Red Zinger tea. It's got hibiscus, mint, lemon grass, rose hips, and lots of other good ingredients in it. It's just enough to be tangy but not enough to no longer be soothing too. It's a really good tea for mid afternoon.

Slow Connection

I'm waiting and waiting on a site to load. It's notoriously slow with its servers and I wonder how it can keep business going with such slow loading times. I wait and wait and after hitting the submit button I just have to do it again later. I'm writing this post while it's taking forever to load. It just loaded half a page and a string of incomprehensible code. Guess I'll just have to wait it out until it gets better.

Stillness in the Rain

After raging storms all weekend there is now a light misty drizzle outside. The rain is light and peaceful. The light is soft. The world is quiet resting up from the storm. The rivers are calming, the puddles are drying up. The world is returning to the way it was.

Why am I Still Awake?

Sometimes I wonder why I can't just call it a night like normal people do. I go through my day, do a lot, and by the time bedtime rolls around, I just am not satisfied. There is always so much more to do and see, so much more to say and think about. Perhaps I'll let this blog be a place to just dump my thoughts. Somewhere I can just paste the fragments of my mind onto, and perhaps arrange them into a mosaic. Or it could end up just a random splattering of thoughts. But isn't that what abstract art is anyway? So here I am writing when I should be sleeping, because that's just what I do.

The Imperfect Storm

So we got hit pretty hard by a really lame tropical storm this weekend. Tropical storm Fay meandered her way around the state, bouncing on and off land and sauntered casually over us in Tallahassee. It dumped a record amount of rain on us and left quite a mess of tree limbs and debris. It also flooded a lot of low lying areas and caused us to close off streets because they were not puddles or rivers. There was a small land slide on one road where I could see most of a muddy bank was now part of the right lane. But things are drying up and should be better in the next couple days.

Chai Tea

I just had some chai tea. The stuff is really good when made right and it's so soothing. It really helps me relax and enjoy just sitting here peacefully blogging. My favorite is this stuff called Tazo (spanish for tea). It comes in a concentrate form. You just add milk and microwave it. You don't have to take a long time boiling water and letting it steep. You just pour and go.
